Welcome to Genres! There are different kinds of genres when it comes to Art. Down below, you will find the name of one kind of Art genre and a brief description on what it is.

Visual Art

The visual arts are art forms such as ceramics, drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, design, crafts, photography, video, filmmaking and architecture. Many artistic disciplines (performing arts, conceptual art, textile arts) involve aspects of the visual arts as well as arts of other types.

Graphic Arts

Graphic art covers a broad range of art forms. Grphic art is typically two-dimensional and includes calligraphy, photography, drawing, painting and printmaking. Graphic art also consists of drawn plans and layouts for interior and architectural designs.

Performing Arts

Performing arts are art forms in which artists use their body or voice to convey artistic expression- as opposed to visual arts, in which artists use paint/canvas or various materials to create physical art objects. The first recoreded use of the term performing arts was in 1711.

Literary Art

Literature is the art of written work and can, in some circumstances, refer to exclusively to published sources. The word literature literally means "things made from letters" and the pairs pro toto term "letters" is sometimes used to signify "literature," as in the figures of speech "arts and letters" and "man of letters." Literature is commonly classified as having two major forms~ fiction and non-fiction~ and two major techniques~ poetry and pose.
